meet roberto “tito” alvarez

My name is Roberto “Tito” Alvarez, and I am honored to run as a delegate for Assembly District 21 as part of the AD21 Dems United for Working Families slate. As a Redwood City native, activist, and community leader, my work has always centered on empowering others and creating opportunities for positive change .

I am the founder of CHASELOVE, an organization dedicated to uplifting underserved communities through creative outreach and humanitarian initiatives. By leveraging the transformative power of culture, art, and community engagement, CHASELOVE has mobilized resources and raised awareness for issues like homelessness, youth empowerment, farm-working families and social equity. Through partnerships with local businesses, artists, and volunteers, we’ve built a foundation of compassion and inclusion, providing opportunities for individuals to thrive.

In my role as Youth Programs Manager for Redwood City, I’ve worked with local agencies in creating equitable programming for all underserved community and to empower the next generation by introducing youth to job readiness resources, mentorship and internships through partnerships with local government, businesses and organization Prioritizing trust and collaborative efforts, my focus is on equipping the next generation with the tools and confidence they need to succeed.

As a lifelong resident of Redwood City, I’ve seen both the challenges and the incredible potential of our community. I am running to ensure that every resident—especially those most underserved—has a voice in shaping a more equitable and sustainable future. As a delegate, I will prioritize:

  • Expanding affordable housing to address displacement and homelessness.

  • Empowering youth with access to leadership opportunities and vital resources.

  • Advocating for workers’ rights by supporting policies that protect working families and promote fair wages.

  • Promoting education equity to ensure every student has a chance to thrive.

  • Advancing social justice by amplifying the voices of those who have been left behind.

I am proud to run alongside 13 remarkable candidates who share a vision of progress and equity. Together, we are committed to advocating for the values that reflect the priorities of our diverse community.
