I am excited to run for re-election on the AD21 Dems United for Working Families slate, a group of union organizers, grassroots activists, and community advocates committed to transforming California’s politics and strengthening the Democratic Party.

As the daughter of immigrants who moved to the United States seeking a better life for themselves, I am committed to advocating for policies that support and uplift working families and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to achieve the American dream, such as fully funded childcare and education, healthcare as a human right and affordable housing. My father was a Navy officer which gave me the opportunity to live in a diverse set of communities throughout Pennsylvania, Florida, Virginia and California before making San Mateo my home. My experiences in these communities shaped my values and led me to become a champion of social justice, equity and LGBTQ+ rights.

I am a working mom to two young children and I’m driven to make sure we leave future generations a better society and healthier planet. As Chair of the San Mateo Planning Commission I’ve supported and encouraged housing development in order to address our housing shortage, which is the root cause of so many of our challenges including skyrocketing housing costs, a childcare shortage, and lengthy commutes that contribute to climate change. I want to make California a leader in sustainable development, building spaces that encourage environmentally friendly transportation, support economic growth, enable a deeper connection to nature, and foster connections between people and communities.

In addition to serving as a Planning Commissioner, I also serve on San Mateo’s Civic Arts Committee and the Measure W Citizens Oversight Committee. I was named the 2022 Housing Leader by the Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo County. I’m excited for the opportunity to work alongside other delegates to ensure that affordable housing, climate action, childcare and healthcare are top priorities for the California Democratic Party.
